don't judge me for only playing kid games... there's nothing I hate more than FPS games. For me videogames are an escape from life (or class, in the case of Tetris). Why would I play high-stakes, violent, stressful video games to relax? And yes I play minecraft on pieacefull fuck off.
On Gaming Growing Up
I think it's funny my relationship with video games as a kid. Growing up Christian, I wasn't allowed to play Minecraft or most other mainstream games like Roblox or Fortnite or any other online servers. It wasn't just the danger of strangers on the internet (doesn't matter cuz I got groomed online as a kid even with the restrictions), but "evil" content. For Christ's sake I wasn't even allowed to read anything before my dad read it entirely before me. Thanks for that new rule, John Green. The first game I remember being infatuated with aside from Webkinz and Club Penguin was Spore. At least that's what I remember the game being called. The babysitter at my friend's house showed my friends and I the game, where you start off as a single-cell organism, and grow, and evolve until you're a strange creature! Of course, the process of growing my own Little Guy and seeing the cycle of evolution in nature I told my mom excitedly! I was no longer allowed at friend's houses when their parents weren't home. When I got on my Minecraft kick in middle school I was unhinged. Minecraft music (c48 still slaps cry about it), creeper zip-up hoodie, posters, figuringes, pocket edition, etc. There was no stopping me no matter how much my dad hated it. Low and behold I just downloaded the PC version for the first time a couple weeks ago and the passion has been revived. I almost cried yesterday when a cave spider killed my wolf. THIS is why I usually stick to peaceful. I heard about the new minecraft update, too, and I'm beyond excited for the new cherryblossom trees and other fun additions. If Mojang could put out a release date at long last that would be fantastic. I've noticed that all of life is just about waitng and waiting for things to come. Doesn't matter- I can enjoy without the update!! Anyone else remember the minecraft hunger game or parkour servers? Or downloading hot girl skins for your avatar? What a time. And don't talk to me about the caves update because I still can't get over the moss blocks and azelia bushes. I want to live there!!!
